I finally "quit" work last year and am enjoying traveling and visiting my children and grandchildren. It's nice to be able to attend their ball games and concerts even though they don't live in Sitka. I'm heading for Hawaii in February or March!

I always remember Mr. Wingard teaching Civics to the seniors every year. He would spend a lot of time telling everyone how expensive I was as they ran a school boat just for me alone! I also remember that he was a staunch democrat so, naturally, everyone in the class was as democrat. However, when he handed me my diploma I whispered in his ear that "now I was a republican!

I have such fond memories of spending lots of weekends up Petersburg Creek with Marge Martinsen File and her family when they took the cows "up Petersburg Creek" for the summer

I have been to the Scandanavian countries three times and actually found relatives on my second trip. This was particularly memorable as I took my 86 year old mother with me and she was able to meet one of her first cousins.

I've also traveled to Japan with students-a great trip and to the Netherlands with a group from Sitka.
