I left Petersburg in 1967 and entered the U.S. Navy. After bootcamp, I stayed in San Diego to attend Radioman school. Upon completion of school got orders to Key West, Florida where I remained for 2 years at the Communications Station. I then got orders to go to Vietnam but first on to another school, Counterinsurgency Training (survival school). Upon completion on to Vietnam where I was on the river(PBR's 50 miles or so south of Saigon. After a year in Vietnam, I decided it was time to get out of the service. I then went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone company as a computer operator. That lasted almost 3-4 years, when I got a job with Boeing Computer Services. First as an operator of large scale computers then after taking some night school courses in programming languages, I got a job as a Computer Analyst Computing Programmer. We programmed in Cobol and Assembler Language. I stayed with Boeing for about 7 years, when I decided to go back in the Navy. More to follow shortly....

I remember working with the teen club back then to help raise money for the pool.

Was stationed in Norway for almost 5 years while in the Navy.
