Carol Kito (Shold) - Class Of 1964


Carol C. (Kito) Shold, 64, a former resident of Interior Alaska (Fairbanks), died April 11, 2010, in Houston, Texas.

Her family wrote, "Our beloved Carol Catherine (Kito) Shold left this Earth, with family by her side, in Houston."

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Petersburg, with a reception after at 6 p.m. at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall. A service in Sitka will be at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Salvation Army, 405 Sawmill Creek Road.

Carol's parents were Saburo S. Kito and Amelia O. Kito. She was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Petersburg. She lived most of her life in Fairbanks and Sitka. She loved long phone conversations with family and friends. She also loved to admire and garden flowers. She will be remembered by many friends and family for her humorous nature. What she cherished most was spending time with her only grandson, Logan, for the last five years while residing in Texas.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Harry Kito.

Carol is survived by her son, Darren Kito and his partner, Bonnie Ganatta, of Fairbanks; her daughter and son-in-law, Rachael and James Cannon II and their son, Logan Cannon, all of Cypress, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Vivian Kito of Anchorage and Sam Kito Jr. of Sultan, Wash.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Ski Musewski of Petersburg and Amelia June and Steve Gage of Sitka; and many loved nieces and nephews across Alaska and the Lower 48.
